This antique locket/fob would make a wonderful gift for someone who treasures vintage jewelry. Fashioned in 10k yellow gold and featuring two genuine onyx gemstones, this Edwardian piece dates from 1900?s-1910?s. The face of the onyx features an intaglio image of an ancient Roman soldier. Prepared for an upcoming battle, the warrior wears a crested helmet, a tunic, and a solemn visage. A banded onyx showcasing alabaster white and jet black layers adorns the back of the locket, which opens to reveal a cobalt-blue interior. Four sturdy prongs hold both onyxes securely in place in a frame bordered in beaded gold and embellished on the corners with etched designs. A generously-sized bail on the top of the locket allows it to worn as a pendant on a necklace or as a fob on a watch chain. As mentioned above, the locket opens from the bottom so that you can enclose a photograph or cherished memento. This stunning piece is in immaculate condition and would make a great addition to any collection of jewelry from yesteryear. The locket?s 10k gold purity composition has been professionally tested and verified.
