Much more than a mere way to tell time, this Hamilton watch is a work of art! Dating from circa 1930’s, this gorgeous Art Deco timepiece is fashioned in platinum, a precious metal valued for its strength and enduring beauty, and features natural diamonds. The face of the watch is square, with the hand mechanism and number indices in black to contrast with the ivory-hued background. The brand, Hamilton, is displayed above the hands. Borders of diamonds frame the face and lead the eye to the sparkling tiaras adorning either end of the watch case. Altogether, the single cut diamonds carry .50 carat total weight, SI1 - SI3 clarity, and G - I color. The back of the case is smoothly polished and bears a stamp with the following metal purity information: 900 Platinum 100 Iridium. Polished lugs on the underside of the tiaras accommodate a black cord band that fastens with a stainless steel fold-over clasp. A guard chain connects both sides of the band for extra security and a China stamp on the underside of the clasp verifies the band’s country of origin. In excellent condition and running order, this exquisite watch is destined to become a family heirloom!
This watch weighs 12.1 grams. The band measures 3/16" (4.5 mm) wide, and the interior of the band measures 7 1/2" long. The face is 17/32" (13.7 mm) wide (not including the crown).
