This antique pin would make a wonderful gift for someone who cherishes jewelry from yesteryear. Created in 15k yellow gold, and featuring seed pearls and a genuine amethyst, this is a Victorian brooch from the last half of the nineteenth century. The face of the brooch is a long bar adorned with seed pearls on both ends and a genuine amethyst in the center. Beautifully faceted to accentuate its royal purple radiance, the oval-cut amethyst is displayed in a bezel embellished with milgrain detailing and ported from the underside for enhanced sparkle. Six seed pearls in bezels of milgrain gold surround the amethyst and lead to twelve more seed pearls on the bar. Eight of the pearls are set in droplet-shaped ?leaves? of polished gold on both ends of the bar. The brooch fastens from the back with a bar and fish-hook clasp. A 15 CT stamp on the underside of the brooch verifies its gold purity composition. This Victorian brooch would make a great addition to any collection of vintage jewelry.
