This offering is for an outstanding American Belleek completely hand painted bone china coffee pot made by the Ceramic Art Company, c. 1894-1906. It carries the CAC Pallet mark on its base. The lower portion of the art nouveau designed coffee pot is hand painted with a glorious iridescent deep purple color with a glass like surface. This portion of the the pot is decorated with a series of eight vertical orange lines with black edges. They represent stems on the flowers that decorate the wide border at the top. The base of the pot is decorated with iridescent orange tulips that are each divided in half by the stems. The border at the top of the pot is incredibly elegant, having been hand painted by an expert, highly talented late Victorian era china painter. The gold background is iridescent. There are also heavy gold paste decorations that separate the tulip shapes. Beautiful large art nouveau designed tulips are decorated with black accents and are divided into three sections. Small orange tulip shapes are also divided into three sections. The highly iridescent surface is very similar to glass—simply divine! The rim of the pot and the spout are also colored by the rich purple glossy colored paint. The opening of the spout and the rim of the pot are also gild. The lid is perfectly colored purple and has a Roman gold finial. MEASUREMENTS: Height: 10 3/8”; Width, including spout & handle: 7 5/8”; Base, 2 3/4” square. The ornate classical designed handle and sides of the square base are also richly decorated in Roman gold. The top of the square base is painted purple with a light speckled appearance and has four orange, gold decorated tulip shapes. The coffee pot is amazing in its structural design; use of exceptional products for decorative purposes; an outstanding art nouveau design; the highest quality of execution AND the EXCELLENT CONDITION. There are no chips, factory flaws, hairline cracks, missing paint or restoration. The single issue is the presence of two vertical scratches that are as wide as thread.of a heavy weight. The scratches blend with the dark purple surface due to the paint’s iridescence. Also, due to their placement close to a highly colored stem, they are not that conspicuous. This antique art nouveau Belleek coffee pot is incredibly rare. It will make n important addition for a collection or as a single object of art.
