This vintage Angel Skin Coral necklace with 14K clasp weighs more than 212 grams and is two strands of oh so romantic, mid century, rare, natural beads that are beyond spectacular. The natural angel skin coral is most beautiful, the blush ivory color is gorgeous and beads are quite large, the longer strand measures 20 1/2 inches and the beads average 13.3mm to 13.8mm in size, the shorter strand measures 18 1/2 inches and the beads average 12.1mm to 12.3 mm, and the cabochon on the clasp is 24.5mm. The necklace closes with a 14K gold push in clasp that has rope detailing around the circumference, there is a small area that does not have the rope, as pictured, and I'm not sure if the rope, or perhaps a safety clasp was there. This didn't bother me at all, and no one ever noticed, nevertheless, it is priced with this in mind. The necklace is wonderful vintage condition, the very slight imperfections on a couple of the beads are to be expected in natural coral. This is a luscious, sensuous necklace with beads that have a natural glow suffused with hints of the softest pink imaginable, it is just dreamy. This is an excellent piece, it is a demure delight and the perfect alternative to pearls. This is a treasure, heirloom quality, and if I had an heir I would definitely keep it since the supply, especially of beads this size, is dwindling due to oceanic conditions and government regulations. Pearl and coral are both gifts from the ocean, pearls are called Mermaid's Tears, I think coral should be called Mermaid's Bliss.
