This antique Bernardaud French Limoges platter with pink and yellow roses and trailing green vines is a rare is Delinieres & Co. white ware blank that was hand painted by the L. Bernardaud decorating studio in an exclusive pattern commissioned by Higgins and Seiter. Higgins & Seiter NYC was one of the finest high end dealers of fine porcelain and cut lead crystal in America from ca. 1863 to 1915. One of their main selling points was exclusivity, each of these bespoke patterns was produced in very limited quantities. Higgins & Seiter was so upscale that they actually had a monogram and yacht department, and they had a branch in Newport RI. This 10 1/2 inch by 8 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch platter is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. In addition to the retailer's mark, this is also marked with both the D & Co., and the Bernadaud back stamps that date this to the turn of the century, Bernardaud purchased D & Co. in 1900. This is a wonderful platter, the design is charming, the oval shape is classic, and it completely sound for table use. I will be adding a larger version of this platter, and I will also be adding the gilded version of this platter, as shown in the second to last picture, it's the same pattern, made by and for the same companies, and I will be happy to combine shipping.
