This vintage Anne Klein coat and pant outfit from the mid to late 70s is most excellent and looks like it could have come down the catwalk at Donna Karan's Fall 2016 Fashion Week Show. Donna Karan, formerly an associate designer for Anne Klein took over as head designer in 1974. I can confidently say that this is from her reign since I bought it at B. Altman after I started working in NYC in 1974. The print is a wonderful display of stylized thistle flowers and foliage done in a tapestry of rich, muted, fall colors of avocado green, mustard gold, rusty red and black on a rich, tannish ochre background. The inside picture most closely resembles the true colors. The design is timeless, a self belted kimono style topper with side set in pockets and straight leg pants with a fly front and set in waist band. Both pieces are fully lined and beautifully tailored. This has Anne Klein, Studio Three B. Altman, ILGWU and Commercially Dry Clean Only labels. There are no fabric tags but it feels like a medium weight cotton lined in a silky blend. There are size tags but please use the measurements below to gauge fit. Each piece is in excellent vintage condition and have been stored in my Lane Cedar Hope Chest for more than 30 years and would benefit from a refreshing dry clean. This super set is fabulous, a classic that will delight for many more decades.
