This Palissy Pottery red to pink transferware bowl, Shepperton Middlesex, is another wonderful piece from their 1946 Thames River Scenes series made in Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire, England. The scene depicts life in the river village when it was an agrarian, sheep town in vibrant hues ranging from deep maroon to dusty pink. The border is a gorgeous display of flowers in full bloom punctuated by leaves and posies. This scalloped edged soup bowl measures 9 inches in diameter and is 1 3/4 inches deep, and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or fleabites. This delightful Palissy bowl is lovely for display and will be a charming addition to your table settings.
