This vintage Coro Duette brooch resplendent with invisibly set ruby red rhinestones and dazzling diamantes is quite dramatic and one of the best dress clip duos I have ever had. The shield shape clips have a wonderful Art Deco look that is equally striking worn cojoined as a brooch or used separately. This piece has 2 patent numbers for the dress clip / mechanism and both are pictured. Pat. 1798867 granted to Gaston Candas March 31, 1931 and Pat. 1852188 granted to Elisha Phinney in 1932 . This Duette is in excellent vintage condition, one diamante chaton has darkened slightly, the rest of the rhinestones are brilliant and silver plated pot metal base looks very nice. The pin and clip mechanisms work perfectly and the piece is signed "Coro Duette" in script on the frame in addition to both signed patent numbers. The Duette measure 3 1/4 inches by 1 5/8 inches, the separate clips each measure 1 5/8 by 1 1/2 inches. Dress clips are so versatile, they can be clipped virtually anywhere and look splendid accenting clothing, purses, hats, belts, I've even worn them clipped to a barrette to highlight my hair done up in a french twist. This Coro Duette presents endless opportunities for wear, you can have fun with it while making a very stylish statement.
