This beautifully rendered 1956 seascape by listed American artist Anthony Shemroske, is a period watercolor in rich, muted tones titled BILOXI SHRIMP BOATS. This is a complex, highly detailed painting and one can almost feel the ebb and flow of the Gulf. Shemroske's watercolors of coastal life and cityscapes were exhibited throughout the US and his work was sold in many fine galleries. The painting is signed, titled and dated in the lower right corner and is in wonderful condition. I can see no damage, but please note that I bought it framed and have never unframed it. The watercolor itself measures approximately 11 x 15 inches, matted and framed it measures 18 x 22 inches. Born in 1921, Shemroske was active from the late 1940s to the late1960s, he passed away in 2004 in his beloved Louisiana. I love this watercolor, its peaceful quietude soothes the soul, and it's time to let it enchant someone new.
