Tiny German Baps doll from the late 1940s. Mischievous Jack, from the nursery rhyme “Jack and Jill”, stands just 4-inches tall. He is made of felt and cloth over a wire armature and is able to stand alone on his weighted metal feet. He has golden floss curls underneath is felt hat, and painted features. I especially love his red and white striped stockings and the tiny white “buttons” on his vest. Jack is in good condition, clean and bright with no holes or tears. His white shirt has several pale age spots, and there are darker glue spots on his cap (see photos). No other flaws noted.
Jack was made in post-war Germany and was designed by Edith Von Arps, a German war widow. Nicely made and full of mischief, ready to join your collection. Jack’s friend Jill is also available in my shop.
