This little felt character doll has so much personality. Chad Valley Doll, made in England, circa 1940s. He measures 8-1/2 inches tall and is made of stuffed felt with a molded painted felt face, applied ears, and 3 stitched fingers on mitt-shaped hands. He is all-original and in good condition. He wears the uniform of a British Ship’s Captain and waves a flag. His uniform is clean and undamaged, with deep, unfaded colors. He is missing one little gold felt “button” on the front of his coat, as well as his tie. The oilcloth bill on his cap is slightly bent, and the white felt is somewhat dirty. His flag is a bit tattered, but he still waves it proudly.
Doll has three tags. “Made In England” at the front hem of his jacket, “Hygienic Toys Made In England By Chad Valley Co., Ltd.” on the back of his torso, and “Kimport Dolls Independence, Mo. This Doll Was Made In England” underneath the back tail of his jacket.
This jaunty little gent has oodles of charm, with his rosy cheeks and friendly grin. He is display ready for your collection.
