Gorgeous vintage Wedding Gown Pattern from the 1940s. Simplicity printed pattern 4215, Size 16, Bust 34 inches. Complete with all pattern pieces, hand counted, carefully cut and refolded, with instruction sheet in the original envelope. A true treasure from the WWII era.
This simple yet elegant wedding gown has a glamorous design straight out of the1940s Hollywood movies. It features a sweetheart neckline augmented with purchased shoulder pads, a beautiful bodice with slimming princess seams extending beyond the natural waistline for a long, slender profile. Gathered side panels fall from curved hip seams, creating a graceful skirt that billows to floor length, ballerina length, or street length. Shapely sleeves may be short or ¾-length, so that the bride may choose to wear short, gauntlet or over the elbow gloves.
A classic yet practical design for the War Bride planning a formal church ceremony, a small home wedding during military leave, or a quick ceremony at the court-house before deployment. This dress is equally suitable for the modern bride with a love of tradition and vintage style.
The original envelope has wear, as shown, with tears and age spotting. It is, however, all intact and completely legible, with lovely color graphics. Contents are clean and undamaged, ready to sew.
