Modern Girls Paper Dolls, 9 dolls with fun 1940s fashions, published by The Saalfield Publishing Co., product #1514, copyright 1943. This set is all original vintage, complete and uncut, dated 1943. Front cover has 3 paper dolls; back cover has 5 more paper dolls plus a little doll's doll (with her own tiny fashions to wear.) The dolls range in size from 10-inches down 1-1/8 inches and represent modern 1940's girls of all ages ranging from toddler to young adult. Each doll has numerous outfits designed for the busy life of the modern girl of 1943; 4 full pages of uncut dresses, gowns, swim suits, sports wear and accessories.
This booklet is in excellent condition, bright and clean, all intact with original staples, tight pages, free of paper loss, stains or tears. There is a small check mark on the front cover and an old price written on the back cover. One small dirt spot on the bra of the doll in pink, shown in accompanying photo. Cover has light shelf wear on the spine and edges, and minor corner bumps. Inside pages show some age darkening around the edges, more noticeable on the front and back pages that face the cardboard covers. No darkening, foxing or fading of any of the printed fashions or accessories. This is a wonderful set from the early 40's, beautifully drawn, complete and uncut.
