Vintage Nancy Ann Storybook Doll Box, Series Brochure and two cardboard restraints are available for your consideration. The rose-red polka dot cardboard box with lid measures approximately 7" x 6" x 2". The Nancy Ann Storybook Doll box with no writing between the dots was created for the Bisque era of the Storybook Doll (prior to 1959). The lid of the cardboard box has an approximate 1” split on one edge. The damage is in the paper covering and partially into the cardboard, but does not go all the way through the lid. The inside of the lid has the following inscription written in pencil… From, Mom August 13, 1948. This notation definitely helps with dating the age of the box. The foil box sticker (2” x ¾”) is printed in black as Season Series, Winter, 93. The inside of the box is clean and without odors, stains or marks. The bottom section of the box is not creased or dented, is fully intact and has normal wear, discoloration and aging. The lid has the previously mentioned 1” tear, a few creases on the top, a bit of wear on the edge, but no splits and is fully intact. The box comes with 2 cardboard restraints to hold the doll in place. The restraints are both slightly different. One restraint most likely held the doll’s neck/head into place and the other held her legs. The restraints are not bent and fully intact. There is a black mark/spot on one restraint which may be an ink spot or possibly a flaw in the cardboard. A Storybook Dolls brochure came with this box. This early brochure is in black and white, discolored from age, has some creases and a few pencil marks, but it is not torn and is fully intact.
An awesome opportunity to purchase an original box with its restraints and brochure which appear to date back to 1948.
