Vintage 8” Doll Dress Lot, 1950s
Two lovely vintage dresses and a vintage skirt that would most likely fit an 8” doll are available for purchase. All of the items are in excellent condition without tears or stains. The white dress with colored diamonds and matching jacket is in excellent condition. The turquoise trim on both the dress and jacket is near perfect. One small section of the turquoise trim was never properly sewn into the bias trim and that is seen in the picture. The snap on the back of the dress is complete while the snap on the jacket is lacking half of it. This lovely dress may possibly be part of the Cha Cha Heel Ginger wardrobe (1957). A picture of this dress on Cha Cha Ginger, or one very similar to it, can be seen on page 84 of Hard Plastic Dolls, II: Identification and Price Guide by Polly and Pam Judd. Another similar dress is seen on Fortune’s Cha Cha Heel Pam (1957) in Small Dolls of the 40s & 50s by Carol J. Stover (p. 90). The white flannel type skater’s dress with gold trim is in wonderful condition and is much whiter and brighter than it appears in the pictures. Its gold snap closure on the back of the dress works properly and is secure. The skirt is quite nice and appears to possibly be handmade. A cute lot of vintage doll items for any 8” doll!
All three of these lovely pieces appear to be made for an 8” doll, such as Ginny, Ginger, Betsy McCall, etc.
Note: None of the items are tagged.
