This is a very attractive Circa 1920's Egyptian Revival ring. The ring has a very unique setting that has six beaded bands in the shank and three beaded intertwined bands culminating with a prong set carved oval amethyst. The carving of the amethyst is reminiscent of Egyptian motifs and the oval amethyst is quite large with a beautiful rich color. The ring is quite chunky and stands 1/2 inch off the finger with the amethyst being 5/8 inch by 1/2 inch. This Egyptian Revival ring is stamped 14K with a commanding appearance. Pieces from this period are increasingly hard to find as most are already in collections. This is a very fine example influenced by the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in the 1920's and an intriguing piece from a mysterious bygone era.
