This is a very beautiful Circa 1910 lady's opal and diamond brooch which can also be worn as a pendant. It acid tests 14K yellow gold. The design is quite unique. In the center is a bevel set 4.5 carat Australian fire opal. Also incorporated into the design are 16 smaller prong set opals weighing 0.40 carats. Prong set around the center opal are 0.60 carats of quality accent diamonds which are H color and VS2 clarity. The brooch measures 1 3/4" by 1 1/2" and is in excellent original condition. This is a rare and lovely example of fine Art Nouveau jewelry from an elegant bygone era.
