This is a very lovely antique Victorian picture frame. It is Circa 1860 and made of Gutta Percha. This unique material was first invented in 1845. The frame has an intricate design with garlands along the bottom and top with a ribbon effect at the top. It is in excellent original condition with no issues. There is a beautiful picture of a baby in the frame. There is no glass. The Gutta Percha is in excellent condition. It measures 6 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" at the widest part of the base. The frame has a tin easel back and also a loop so it can stand or be hung on a wall. This is an elegant piece from the Victorian past.
