This is an exceptional Victorian bronze inkwell. It is Circa 1880 and originates from England. The detail in this piece is amazing. There is a standing youth leaning against a bucket with another bucket on the ground next to him. On the other side appears to be a well covered with foliage and next to that a tree stump. There are branches that come up from the back that would hold the pen. The entire piece is intricately cast with great attention to detail. It is mounted on the original black marble base. The top of the well is hinged and opens to reveal the inkwell with insert. It measures 6 ½ inches long and 4 ¾ inches at the top of the lad’s hat. It weighs 3 lbs. This is a very attractive inkwell from every angle and is in excellent condition.
