What a great example of the Art Nouveau Era this pitcher represents. This Jugendstil piece is a monumental size measuring 15 inches to the top of the wood grouse's tail and 5 1/2 inches across the base. It has an exquisite metal armature and handle with a whiplash design which is mirrored in the cut design on the lower section of the glass pitcher. This is accompanied with a raised Art Nouveau floral design on the top section of the armature. The top finial is a wood grouse with wings spread. The detail is excellent. On the top of the lid is an engraved inscription dated 1903, please refer to photos. This pitcher is in excellent condition with the metal mount showing a great patina. This is a beautiful example of the quality craftsmanship of a bygone era.
