This is a rare find for the collector of the Arts & Crafts period. This trophy is a fine example of the craftsmanship from that period. It is hand hammered in copper and brass with a raised design around the base with two wide full length handles which flare out. On the front is a copper shield with raised letters which read, L.K.A. of So.Cal. Trophy Best Gordon Setter 1912, please refer to photos. There is no signature that I can find on the piece. It is guaranteed original and of the period. It measures 8 5/8 inches to the top of the handles and 8 inches at the widest point of the handles. The opening is 3 ½ inches and the base is almost 5 inches. This would look fantastic with oak furniture from the Arts & Crafts and Mission periods. It is in great condition with the original patina and has not been polished. This would also make a great addition to any dog collection. This is truly a piece from a past era that captures the moment.
