This is a lovely Vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Candia Papillon" and the form is a thumbprint vase with concave sides. The vase is in the form of a classical Grecian urn and stands 6 1/4" tall by 4 3/4" at the widest part of the design. The vase has a beautiful mottled gold iridescence reflecting shades of blue and fuchsia. The mottled oil spot design of the vase is the result of a particular design which Loetz developed and named Candia Papillon. Tiffany and Loetz competed during the Art Nouveau Era along with Rindskopf and Kralik. This exquisite example dates from 1890 to 1910 and is in perfect original condition. This vase by Loetz is a lovely example of Art Glass from an elegant bygone era.
