This is truly an absolutely beautiful English flow blue stone ware tureen. It was made by the company Morley & Ashworth between 1855 and 1862. It is fully signed on the base with the Imperial Stone Mark. The workmanship on this tureen is exquisite. It measures 10 1/2 inches to the top of the cover and 13 inches at the widest part of the handles. This is a footed piece with a floral and bird motif accented in gold. This piece originated from a very prominent Chicago estate. Condition Report - The entire piece is perfect with the exception of a very small 1 inch hairline in the cover which does not diminish the piece in the least, please refer to photos. This piece is an exquisite example of fine mid 19th century flow blue stone ware from England. I can just imagine serving a lobster stew from this tureen.
