This is a very fine and representative piece of signed Sascha Brastoff, ( 1917-1993 ) ceramic pottery. Sasha was a gifted ceramicist at age 24 and after WWII, he was signed to a design contract with 20th Century Fox by Darryl Zanuck. In 1947 he opened a decorative ceramic factory in Los Angeles. This vase is fully signed on the side and base and stands 9 1/2 inches tall, please refer to photos. The vase is intricately designed in a highly decorative unicorn and gene motif. It measures 5 inches across the widest part of the design and is in excellent original condition. Pieces of this quality are mostly found in private collections. Sascha was one of the most famous names in pottery during the 1950's and this is a very fine example of his legendary ceramic artistry.
