This is a very fine example of quality furniture produced during the Victorian period. It is a beautiful Circa 1870 walnut cantebury or magazine stand. This is beautiful with an intricate open carved design incorporated on both sides as well as the vertical sections that would hold the magazines. There also are two shelves and a carved backsplash at the very top. In addition there is a drawer on the bottom that opens from both sides and each side has a carved pull. It measures 33 1/2 inches to the tallest part of the carving by 13 1/2 inches deep and 20 inches wide. It retains the original finish with very minor wear commesurate with the age of the piece. This is really an interesting piece of furniture from an elegant bygone era.
