This is an exceptional example of antique miniature oil lamps from the Victorian era. It is Circa 1860 and is a miniature banquet or peg lamp. It has a beautiful cranberry font and matching etched shade. It retains the original burner although we do not have a wick for it. The base is metal with a dark brass worn patina that is only accomplished with age. The base has an ornate raised design. The font has an applied floral motif on the front. The shade has 5 ornate etched panels and an etched design around the outside top. It measures 18 1/2 inches to the top of the chimney and the shade measures 5 1/4 inches across the opening of the base. It is in excellent original condition. This is an absolutely delightful example of lighting from an elegant bygone era.
