This beautiful vase measures 21 inches to the top of the handles. It is Circa 1890 and the body of the vase is metal with a red patina. It has a full bodied seated cherub holding a bird along with birds with outstretched wings on the handles. At the top of the handles are a cherub's head with wings. Each corner of the footed base has a Northwind head. The ornate handles, footed base, cherub and adornments have a burnished gold finish. The vase has a wonderful patina and the deep red finish on the body of the vase does show some minor scuffs and dings that are to be expected with the age of this piece but do not diminish from the elegant appearance. The vase is quite heavy weighing 10 pounds. This is a very impressive vase that is reminiscent of the Rococo Period and would make a bold statement anywhere in your home.
