Wow! This is an absolutely beautiful museum quality silver bowl. It is Circa 1890 and stamped 800 from Austria or Germany. This is a magnificent example of exemplary artistry from the Art Nouveau period. This piece measures 15 1/4 inches wide by 15 3/4 inches by 3 inches and 3 1/4 inches tall depending on the reticulated curve of the bowl. The center of the bowl depicts five cherubs in high relief surrounded by garlands of roses with a floral basket in the center. The 4 1/4 inch border curves out from the center in a highly open reticulated design with raised garlands of roses and floral decor. In the center of each side is a section with two raised cherubs which flare inward towards the center of the bowl. Every section of this piece has a highly ornate design and is one of the largest and finest examples from the Art Nouveau period. This truly is a museum quality piece from an elegant bygone era.
