This was an exceptional estate find. It is a magnificent porcelain clock in the shape of an artist's pallette. It is Circa 1800 / 1820 with a very fine high grade french balance movement which is unsigned and a French escape platform original movement. This is a seven day clock and the entire movement is original to the clock. It has been professionaly cleaned and is in running condition, however it may need adjustments due to shipping. The clock comes with the original key. The porcelain pallette is hand painted with an elegant garden scene with a gentleman offering his lady a lovely little bird in a cage. In the center of the clock is a hand painted naturalistic scene in subtle tones depicting flowers and trees. The porcelain pallette measures 8 1/2" at the widest by 10 3/4" at the longest part. The porcelain pallette fits onto a brass frame that measures 8 1/4" wide by 17 1/2" tall. The brass frame is also original. This is a rare find and what I believe to be a museum quality clock.
