This is a beautiful antique French Jewelry box. The cover has an exquisite artist signed enameled 19th century garden scene depicting two lovers with the gentleman presenting the lovely young lady with flowers. The cover is a rich blue guilloche with garlands of flowers and ribbons. The box is brass with a rich and detailed overall raised design with scrolls and flower urns. When opened the box reveals the original velvet tray to hold rings and a pocket watch. The tray is removable with more space beneath for other jewelry. This fantastic box is in untouched original condition showing only the normal signs of wear indicative of the age of the piece with some slight crazing to the blue guilloche around the center garden scene which is minor. The lock is intact, however we do not have the key. The box measures 6" by 4 3/4" and 2 1/2" tall. This is one of the finest French jewel caskets from an elegant bygone era.
