This is an exquisite example of French craftsmanship from the Victorian Era. It is a beautiful rosewood boulle perfume casket with a fitted interior which contains the original crystal scent bottles in excellent condition. The rosewood cover is hinged and locks and there are two doors that open in the front for easy removal of the perfumes. The cover along with the escutcheons on both doors have an intricate inlaid boulle brass design. The sides curve outward and also have a brass inlaid design. The top, doors, sides, and back are also outlined in a fine brass inlay. The hinged top and doors open to reveal a fitted interior which holds the three original bottles. The interior of the cover is lined in a beautiful rose silk with a floral and leaf design. On the top section and stopper of each scent bottle is a delicate gold leaf design. Each bottle is heavy crystal with curved bevelled sides. The rosewood casket is footed and measures 4 inches tall and 8 inches wide by 4 inches deep. This lovely find contains the original key and the lock is in working condition. Each bottle measures 2 1/2 inches to the top of the stopper, by 1 3/4 inches wide and 1 inch deep. This lovely piece is a great find in such beautiful condition and would make a great addition to a vintage perfume bottle collection and is a fine example of an elegant bygone Era.
