This is a very unique Circa 1860/1880 Victorian bronze inkwell. It is a figural bull standing by a covered well. When the cover is removed it is the inkwell with the original milk glass insert. There is also a very cute small frog leaping across the cobblestones. On the back side of the well is a bronze column which would hold the pen. It measures 5 inches long by 3 inches deep and weighs 1 1/2 lbs. This is a great piece from an important collection of antique inkwells recently purchased from a prominent California estate.
