Here is lovely powder compact made by Elgin American. It is round in shape and measures approximately 3-3/4" in diameter X 3/8". It is goldtone with a matte finish and a really lovely bright goldtone sunburst motif. This piece is unused, purchased from the estate of a jeweler. We estimate it is from the Art Deco era, circa late 1930's-1940's.
The compact has a mirror inside the top and a place for loose powder in the bottom compartment. The powder applicator or puff is in place. The sticker price tag from the jewelry store is on the mirror. The hinges and closure all work as they should and the compact is in very good condition with the exception the mirror shows age wear.
