Here is a nice vintage handkerchief from the known maker Tammis Keefe. She worked as a textile print designer in the 1940's and began designing handkerchiefs in the late 1940s into the early 1950s. Her designs are usually quite fanciful and often feature the recognizable colors of the 50's. Her hanky designs were often inspired by her travels.
This lovely hankie features a light beige or tan background with flourishes and scrolls in brown all around the border. Inside, there are long feathers, possibly quill feather pens, and pairs of clasped or shaking hands. It measures approximately 14-1/2 inches on all sides and is in very good condition. The hem is hand rolled and stitched. No odors, stains, holes, etc.
