Here is a wonderful paper bound book which was the program for a West Indies cruise. The cruise was for the benefit of "several benevolent institutions" of which the "Cie Gle Transatlantique", a French Line, was one.
The cover of the piece shows a color drawing of a sailor in hat, slicker and scarf at the wheel of the ship in a storm. This illustration is signed: "Jean Droit.". He was an artist (water colorist) and illustrator and lived from 1884-1961. Inside to booklet are biographies of the various organizations or charities represented on the cruise. The write-ups are in both French and English. There are several color illustrations relating to the groups as well, also done by Droit.
Also inside is the program for activities and entertainment on board the cruise. The dates of the cruise were December 16th, 1932 to January 4th, 1933.
The book is in very good condition, as found. Please have a look at the photos provided and ask any questions you may have. We are not book experts and have done our best to describe the item.
