We are presenting a beautiful antique sterling silver ladle made by "TOWLE". It is also marked: "STERLING" and "925/1000" on the back of the graceful handle. We have identified the pattern as Old Newbury or Pattern Number 1900. There is also the mark: "W.W. FISHER" on the back of the handle who was probably the merchant who originally sold this piece. It has the monogram "T" in script.
This substantial piece of silver is most likely a gravy ladle but could be used for any other purpose where a ladle is required. The ladle measures approximately 6-5/8" in length and weighs 64.6 grams or 2.28 ounces. It has wonderful balance and feels great in the hand. It is in very, very good condition and will look beautiful on your holiday table!
