Here is a lovely antique souvenir spoon made by Durgin of Concord, NH and Providence, RI circa 1880-1905. It features the wonderful image of the Portland Head lighthouse on the handle and is engraved: "PORTLAND ME" as well. The spoon is marked: "STERLING" and has the maker's mark script "D" on the back of the handle. Also on the back of the handle are the words: "PAT. APD. FOR. W SENTER CO". The spoon has a monogram in the bowl which reads: "Bins". Additionally, the date monogram is on the back of the handle: "JULY 19-20-1902".
The spoon measures approximately 5-7/8" long and weigh 24.2 grams or 0.85 ounces. It is in very good condition.
