We are presenting a wonderful vintage brooch by De Lizza & Elster, well-known creators of Juliana jewelry.
This is a substantial pin, both in size and weight. It is leaf shaped and features three layers of construction. The lowest layer consists of the leaf stem and the widest layer, and also provides the outer frame of the piece. There are root bear navette rhinestones and two sizes of peachy-topaz rounds and a single round citrine. The next or middle layer consists of a large root beer oval surrounded by aurora borealis rounds, more root beer navettes and peachy-topaz rounds, and another single citrine. The top layer is three flower shapes, made up of round orange rhinestones surrounded by very small aurora borealis rounds.
This brooch measures approximately 3-1/4" x 1-5/8". The setting is goldtone and all stones are prong set. The construction of the brooch seen from the back shows a mixture of closed and open back stones, figure eight puddling, and rivets. The roll over safety clasp functions well and all of the stones are sparkling and in great condition. The pin is straight and secure although it shows some oxidation of the metal.
A FABULOUS brooch to wear anytime, especially during the fall autumn season!
