We are very pleased to offer a wonderful vintage demi-parure by DeMario. The set consists of a fabulous, large brooch and matching earrings. All pieces are marked with the maker's name.
Founded by Robert DeMario, this lovely jewelry is reminiscent of Miriam Haskell in it's intricate hand-work and wired construction with glass beads and artificial pearls even though there is no connection between the two companies. A New York company, DeMario made wonderful jewelry from about 1945 until the 1960's.
The fabulous pin features green glass beads, glass pearls, a few rhinestones and gold gilt leaves, layered and attached to a decorative filigree mounting with wired construction. The brooch is essentially oval in shape and gorgeous. The maker's mark: "DE MARIO ©" in an oval cartouche is on the back. The matching earrings are clip-on style and are round with a mounded or layered construction. They feature a lovely combination of the smaller green glass beads, in two shades, and rhinestones. They have a fabulous feature of woven rope of individual strands around the edge.
The brooch measures approximately 2-3/8"W x 1-5/8"H and has a secure roll-over safety clasp. Two of the leaves have a bit of wear to the gold gilt finish. The pin has a slight bend which does not negatively affect its functionality. The earrings measure approximately 7/8" in diameter.
