We are pleased to offer a fabulous vintage fur or dress clip from France. The clip features a goldtone setting with wonderful rhinestones. Based on our research, we attribute this piece to Roger Jean Pierre.
Roger Jean Pierre was a designer who made beautiful jewelry for the couture houses of Paris and Bergdorf Goodman's of New York. He designed for Schiaparelli, Dior, and Balenciaga. In the 1960's, he opened his own atelier in Paris. His pieces were given paper labels.
This piece is signed on the clip: "MADE IN FRANCE" and "DEPOSE". The top, and fixed portion of this piece has two large citrine round rhinestones in the center. Positioned all around these stones are groups of splayed amber navettes. Suspended from this piece are two dangles, each consisting of a large clear crystal round stone and two splayed navettes below. The two dangles attach to a single dangle consisting of another large citrine stone and three amber navettes.
The entire piece measures approximately 3-3/4"L x 1-1/2"W. The back is also beautifully constructed. The clip is sturdy and has two prongs or pins. We think this piece would look spectacular worn on a chain as a pendant as well as its intended purpose as a clip.
This wonderful clip is in very good condition and has not been cleaned or polished. Spectacular! Circa 1950's.
