This is a lovely signed "WEISS" grape motif brooch or pin in a goldtone setting. It features sparkling uncommon Bermuda Blue round rhinestones as the "grapes" set high in crown-like prong settings. The grapes are enhanced with Emerald Green "leaves" and a Smoked Topaz "tendril" or "stem". There are also four little gold tone flowers around the center grape, adding to the wonderful detail of this piece.
The Weiss company made high-quality costume jewelry from 1942 until the 1970's. The company was founded in New York City by Albert Weiss, a former employee of the Coro company (the largest costume jewelry manufacturer at the time). Weiss' jewelry was often studded with Austrian rhinestones.
The brooch is in very good to excellent condition, measuring 2" x 1-3/4". There is a secure roll over safety clasp on the back. This is a great piece to enhance your sweater, coat, hat or to wear on your next wine tasting tour or cruise! Just beautiful with lots of sparkle.
