We are offering a lovely signed vintage brooch. It was made by the "STERLING BUTTON CO. N.Y.", signed in a rectangular cartouche.
Sterling Button Company was part of the Turkeltaub button and textile empire. They were a story of longevity, founded in 1904 and stayed in business until 1997. We believe this particular pin is circa 1940's.
The pin setting is a goldtone square. It is set with very nice quality open back, foiled ruby red square crystal rhinestones. There are tiny clear crystal round rhinestones set at each point or corner of the squares. The outside edge or frame of the piece has a slightly scalloped rope design.
The brooch has a secure roll over safety clasp and the pin snaps tightly into place. This piece measures approximately 1-3/8" square and is in very good condition. By the positioning of the pin, this piece is meant to be worn on angle as a diamond shape.
