We are pleased to offer a beautiful vintage demi parure set by Vendome. The Vendome line, made from 1944-1979, was one of the better and higher priced lines of jewelry made by Coro. Vendome, probably best known for glittering faceted glass bead necklaces and earrings, also featured other wonderful jewelry designs using the cabochon, enamel and rhinestones.
This brooch or pin and earring set features goldtone diamond shaped filigree settings with large oval Mother-of-Pearl cabochons surrounded by wire strung MOP disks and aurora borealis clear faceted disks with gold seed bead accents. The brooch closes with a roll over safety clasp and measures approximately 2-3/8" L x 1-5/8" W. The earrings duplicate the same design as the brooch but they are smaller, measuring approximately 1-1/2" L x 1-1/8" W. The earrings have clip backs with adjustable pressure screws.
The brooch is signed "Vendome" over "DES PAT" on a rectangular cartouche. The earrings are marked "Vendome" on the clip back and "PAT. 2809501" on the earlobe pad. This patent was granted for Vendome's famous adjustable tension clip-on design which means they will not hurt when you wear them.
This set is in excellent condition with no wear noticed. Circa 1957.
