We are pleased to offer a Native American Navajo sterling silver and turquoise necklace. The pendant on this piece is quite unusual in that it is actually two pieces which are hinged together. Each component is all hand hewn and both feature a nice piece of turquoise. We believe the stones are from the Kingman Mine in Arizona. Kingman Turquoise Mine stones are among the most beautiful and sought after varieties, known for their characteristic veining. Most of the turquoise stones pulled form the Kingman Turquoise Mine are used for the highest quality turquoise jewelry.
The hinged pendant measures approximately 3-1/4" in length with the top portion being a bit larger than the bottom piece. The necklace consists of handmade, hand soldered sterling silver Hogan beads. Most are round, interspersed with a few oblong beads. The necklace measures approximately 24" in length. It is strung on metal thread and closes with a hand made clasp.
The necklace is marked on the back of the bottom part of the pendant: "BLUE SKY" and is in very good condition. Just beautiful with a lovely patina.
