We are pleased to offer a beautiful signed demi parure by Sherman. All pieces are marked "Sherman" in script writing, in a cartouche on the brooch and on the end of the screwback on both earrings. The demi set includes a fabulous layered brooch or pin and matching earrings. This lovely set features four shades of blue rhinestones in different shapes and sizes. There are sparkling rounds and navettes in a rhodium plated setting.
The brooch measures approximately 2" x 1" and closes with a secure rollover clasp. The earrings are screw back style and measure approximately 1-1/4" x 5/8". All pieces are in excellent condition. This would be a wonderful wedding set for a bride!
NOTE: We found it difficult to capture the beautiful blues in this set. They have much more depth and sparkle in person than in the photographs.
Gustave Sherman, considered by many to be Canada's premier jewelry designer, founded the Sherman Costume Jewelry Company in 1947 in Canada. He produced quality pieces with the best Swarovski stones and crystals beads including aurora borealis, crystal beads (navettes and/or marquise cut stones), some stones with reverse foil to obtain sparkling stones with a prism-like appearance and multiple color flashes. Jewelry pieces were prong set, with quite heavy and highly polished rhodium plating, gold plating, Japanned plating and other metal platings. Foiled stones were used extensively with unfoiled stones in open settings rarely seen in the jewelry designs. Sherman costume jewelry produced was known for its superior and meticulous details on design. The company ceased production in 1981.
