This is a very nice Sheffield plate sugar sifter spoon. It weighs 29.8 grams and measures approximately " in length. The bowl of the spoon is scalloped and pierced and measures approximately 2" x 1-3/4". The end of the handle has an openwork design which appears to be all hand done. The hallmarks for James Dixon & Sons is on the back of the handle. Very good condition.
James Dixon established his company in 1806, becoming "& Sons" in 1835. They produced a large variety of goods, from Britannia metal articles, EPNS, to good quality silver.
