We are offering a wonderful antique photo case with a Tin Type. It was made of papier mache with a wood frame. The photograph is of a younger man with a hat and button up vest. He also has what looks like a ribbon tie. Each of his hands grasps the lapels of his coat. He sports a goatee and mustache. He strikes a serious and confident pose.
The case has a dark mauve colored suede-like pad on the left side. It is fairly simply decorated. The photograph is housed under glass and decorated in a fancy gold work frame.
The front and back of the case are decorated the same. There is a fancy circle in the center and decoration all around.
The case measures approximately 2-7/8" x 2-3/8". It closes with a brass clasp. Overall, this case is in very good condition, showing minimal wear consistent with the age and materials used.
