This amazing brooch features a carved Asian woman in robes and holding a feathered scepter. She is mounted on a huge sterling silver platform featuring leaves and bezel set rhinestones in shades of green, smoke and topaz. The piece is very weighty and well made and although unsigned is immediately recognizable as a piece made by Hobe in the 1940s with the signature mounting and carved Asian figures.
The brooch measures an impressive 3-3/4 inches in height and 2-3/4 inches in width at the widest point. It is in excellent vintage condition with all stones present and clear. There is a very slight chip to one of the small green rhinestones mounted on the bottom, but it is not easily noticed. The figural piece is free from chips and retains most of the detail on its face and clothing.
