This unusual and lovely set is made of faceted and etched rock crystals that are bezel set in sterling silver. These rock crystal pieces were very popular in the 1940s and are most often seen in a clear, version. This demi-parure is quite unique as it is frosted and etched with Japanese characters. Unfortunately I have no idea what the phrase is, but often words of good luck were scribed.
The bracelet measures a little over 7 inches in length and 1 inch in height. The earrings measure 3/4 inch in height by 1/2 inch in width. The brooch measures 1 inch in height by 3/4 inch in width. All pieces are in excellent vintage condition, with all the crystals in great shape and free from cracks or chips. The silver setting is darkened and a bit tarnished but could be cleaned if desired. The bracelet is stamped "Silver" on the back of the clasp; the earrings are stamped "Sterling" on the top of the screw backs and the brooch has markings, but cannot be read due to wear.
